100 life jackets and ice
Dimensions variable
Image view: North coast of Havana, Cuba
A hundred life jackets frozen into blocks of ice were placed off the northern coast of Cuba. The vests were placed in an area where a large number of people from the island used to emigrate to the United States of America in the year 2000. The title of the piece is inspired by a poem from Mario Benedetti, which is titled “No te salves”.
